Published by The Network: Towards Unity for Health

A passionate promoter and supporter of budding authors, Dr. Michael Glasser recently retired from his position as Editor of Education for Health. He led the journal as Co-Editor with Don Pathman from 2006, through its journey from sponsorship by Maastricht University to its relationship with Maharashtra University for Health Sciences, and then Medknow publishing.

Michael was Associate Dean for Rural Health Professions, the Director of the National Center for Rural Health Professions, and a Research Professor of Medical Sociology at the University of Illinois, College of Medicine, Rockford. His longstanding work with the journal was performed on top of all his medical school responsibilities.

It was almost worth getting a rejection letter from Michael as it contained valuable feedback likely to make one’s next submission significantly better! I hope we, the next iteration of Education for Health editors, have as much patience and passion for emerging researchers as Michael did.
